Who We Are
Miles For Men & Walk For Women is a UK registered charity (Charity No. 1154996) based in Hartlepool. We raise funds to support local people facing cancer, serious health challenges, and poverty.
Founded by Micky Day, the charity was born out of personal tragedy and a determination to make a difference in the local community. Micky has dedicated himself to raising funds and awareness, organising events throughout the year that bring the community together for a great cause.
To date, Miles For Men has donated over £805,000 to individuals and organisations in need, including £127,000 to Cancer Research UK. Our target for 2025 is £900,000.
We are based at Unit 135 Middleton Grange Shopping Centre, Hartlepool, TS24 7RZ.

Join us for the Miles for Men Charity Golf Day at Hartlepool Golf Club on Friday 4th September 2026 — a fantastic day of golf for a great cause! We're looking for teams of four to take part in this special event, raising vital funds to support local people facing health challenges.

Riley's Fundraiser
In memory of a brave little boy who captured the hearts of an entire community

Raised & Handed to Riley's Family
Riley's Story
Riley was an 8 year old young boy who, just over 12 months ago, was diagnosed with cancer. His diagnosis was devastating — not only for Riley, but for his entire family. Sadly, the illness resulted in the lower half of his leg being amputated, leaving Riley and those who loved him heartbroken.
One of Riley's lifelong wishes was to visit Euro Disney — and Miles For Men were determined to make that dream come true. Through GoFundMe campaigns, the incredible generosity of local people and businesses, sponsored events including the Ska Fell Hike, and the overwhelming support of this community, we smashed our target.
£15,000 was raised and handed across to Riley's family — and Riley got his wish. He made it to Euro Disney.
Sadly, Riley later lost his brave battle with cancer. He will never be forgotten. His courage, his smile, and the love this community showed him will stay with us always. Rest easy, Riley. 💙

Evie Leigh — Forever 11
Evie Leigh was a beautiful, bright and vibrant young girl who captured the hearts of everyone she met. Sadly, Evie lost her brave battle with cancer, leaving behind a community devastated by her loss — but forever inspired by her spirit.
Miles For Men founder Micky Day ran the Great North Run alongside some of Evie's closest friends and family, all wearing purple in her memory. Together they raised a staggering £2,358 in Evie's honour.
Evie will be forever 11. Her memory lives on in every mile we run, every pound we raise, and every family we support. She is the reason we keep going.
