ABOUT OUR CHARITY

Miles For Men & Walk For Women | Who we are | Who we help | Why we do it

Miles for Men & Walk For Women is a North East charity, based in Hartlepool, dedicated to raising funds for those affected by cancer both within the local community and nationally.

To date the charity has raised in excess of £375,000, with £127,000 sent to Cancer Research UK and over £15,000 to Hartlepool Hospice, due to the overwhelming support of the charity around the country.

The notion of Miles for Men started in April 2012 when Michael Day Jnr was talking about his late father, Michael Day Snr, who sadly lost his battle with throat cancer in 2007 aged 67. Michael wanted to do something in memory of his father and suggested a sponsored run for men. After 5 months of overwhelming support, organisation and many a late night… Miles for Men was born. The 5k run continues to be a successful annual event, but is now backed by hundreds of other smaller events and fundraising activities.

One day we’ll all be touched by cancer, whether that be ourselves or a loved one, Miles for Men aim to Make a Difference with your help!

Miles for Men & Walk For Women are constantly seeking corporate sponsorship for events and fundraising activities to help generate vital funds to support and benefit real families. You can make a real difference to peoples lives, so please contact us for further details.
